Lake Tahoe

I did not learn from my Mammoth Lakes experience, and decided to again send it when seeing a setting sun and packed snow. This time, the snow was packed enough to drive, but narrow enough to slide into the soft stuff.

Again, the Max Tax were hugely helpful to getting me to a better campsite for the night.

I decided to cave and pay for a campsite rather than fight the snow gods again. Later in the week I had a bit more time to explore and was able to get some good photos of Lake Tahoe from a ridge line on a hiking trail attached to the park.

Another bluebird day, so I decided to take my last meeting for the day outside to better enjoy it. I thought I was generous to share the mountain views (below) with my coworkers, but I'm not sure they felt the same way.

I thought it was obligatory to get some photos of Lake Tahoe, so I boot packed to a high point for a better shot. The lack of snow the past month was more obvious here, and a lot of terrain remained closed (pictured) despite being nearly February.

The terrain always makes the mountain lakes pop just a little bit more.

With some free time, I hiked a trail near the campsite and ended on a ride line overlooking Lake Tahoe. It was hard to believe the campsite was so close to the lake with how secluded it felt in the woods.
