Tear Down

Having returned to Iowa, we found some space in the barn to store the hard top and roof top tent, and place the soft top back on the Jeep for summer.

Although the hard top had been replaced, I had promised a friend I would start and end the trip with him in Colorado, so I headed back out for the penultimate weekend at Arapahoe Basin in May.

It might have been May, but that didn't mean it was going to stop snowing! It turned out to be one of the best snow days of the trip, and I was glad to be west again.

Unfortunately, that snow meant my friend got into a fender bender and we weren't able to spend the day together. We were still able to connect for lunch the next day, and I was sure to share this photo of the crowds so he knew he didn't miss too much.

The lines and fresh snow was a unique combination for anyone trying to ride the chairlift -- especially anyone that caused it to slow down or stop.
